THE ELEVATOR DOORS OF THE CARLU OPEN, and we are suddenly immersed into a fairy tale. “Reverie: Celebration of Dreams”, the 7th annual WedLuxe show invited industry professionals for a night of networking and magic before opening to the public. Making our way into the back to set up alongside our friends from Oliver and Bonacini, we have to pull our eyes away from what surrounds us.
A magnificent, butterfly covered horse, dazzling dresses and dapper suits, breathtaking table sets and full champagne flutes. Could we just live in this magic for a few days?! We can’t help but compliment once we’re in the back, slipping into our brand new uniforms. Sophisticated deep blue dress pants and stunning low back sleeved dresses. We look perfect for a night full of such luxuries. As we weave through the multiple rooms of the event, we can’t help but notice a certain lightness in the air. Everyone seems to be in an incredible mood, taking selfies in perfect lighting setups and with the magical white horse. Event planners laugh fully amongst each other, holding cotton candy topped mocktails and sprinkled sugar cookies.
Waves of excitement move through the crowd with us in anticipation for “The Odyssey of Love”, the shows first ever runway show. The models aren’t the only ones all dressed up in diamonds though. Jeff and Julie of JJBückar jewellers thought a diamond ring atop a freshly shucked oyster would be extravagance at its finest. Guests flood towards us, snapping pictures and chatting with us and enjoying oysters of their own
The next day, the WedLuxe show is filled with future brides and grooms looking for the perfect venue, caterer, dress and any and everything else that might make their special day as breathtaking as Toronto’s only luxury wedding show.
